Implants
Dr. Moon is proud to be the only dentist in the Washington, Metamora, Germantown Hills, East Peoria, and Eureka area who places his own implants.

Implants are titanium pins surgically placed into the bone. Think of them like an artificial tooth root. They can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple missing teeth, or hold a denture firmly in place.

Implant placement is usually a two step procedure. First, it is placed and allowed to heal for a period of time, around four months. Later, a small incision is made under local anesthetic and a healing cap is placed for a period of a couple of weeks. The implant is then ready to restore a missing tooth, multiple teeth, or fasten attachments used to hold an existing denture into place. Sometimes a bone graft is needed. This allows improvement to the site where the implant will be placed to insure it's success.
